Anxious? Frustrated? Ready to throttle your bunker mates?
Breathe deep. Really, it works. Here at hoohoo headquarters we practice daily, especially at bedtime.
Taking a deep breath short circuits the mind-body connection, and it's one of the easiest practices you can do to reduce feelings of anxiety and worry.
The most effective breathing technique for this is simply counting:
4 Counts INHALE (through your nose)
7 Counts HOLD IT
8 Counts EXHALE (through your mouth)
~ Repeat this cycle 4-6 times ~
The 4-7-8 method can immediately calm and help create some peace by chilling out your body’s natural fight-or-flight response.
Dr. Weil demonstrates.
